Abu Dhabi Chequered Flag Ball

As the daughter of Scottish former Ryder Cup captain, Bernard Gallacher, Kirsty has lived a life in the sporting spotlight.

After graduating from the London College of Fashion, she embarked on a career in broadcasting and began work as a production assistant before moving on to the position of editorial assistant on Sky Sports. Two years later her big presenting break came when she was offered a position on rolling news channel Sky Sports News in 1998. In a career that has since gone from strength to strength she has subsequently been associated with several other sports shows such as 90 Minutes, Soccer Extra, Soccer AM and the BBC’s Kirsty and Phil.

Further television work includes Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway for primetime ITV, the launch of the return series of Gladiators alongside former England and Arsenal forward Ian Wright for Sky One, and along with Angus Deayton she co-presented the live BBC1 series Only Fools On Horses, which saw celebrities take on the challenge of show jumping to raise money for Sports Relief.

Cementing her position as a sports broadcaster of repute, Kirsty turned her hand to radio, hosting her own sports and entertainment show for BBC Radio Five Live on Saturday mornings and presenting a weekly Wednesday evening Golf series for the station. Away from the screen, Kirsty is known for her dedication to sport and fitness and has also had brief spells in modelling.

Making her Middle East Debut in the Chequered Flag Ball, Kirsty said: "The F1 weekend is an occasion in itself and I’m really excited about starting my Abu Dhabi F1 weekend with the Chequered Flag Ball."

Joining Kirsty for the evening will be Dubai-based television and radio broadcaster Tom Urquhart. Having spent more than 10 years in the Emirates Tom has played an integral role in regional media as both a journalist and presenter.

As the presenter and executive producer of Dubai Eye's popular Sport Talk show Tom became an established voice of sport in the region – some labelling him as the man with the 'golden' voice.

Away from radio, Tom has moved on to the small screen and now hosts the daily Dubai One show Studio One. He has also featured in shows for the Discovery Planet, A Place in the Sun from the UK and Lonely Planet.

Award winning artist Mica Paris will be headlining the Abu Dhabi Chequered Flag Ball.

Mica is one of the UK’s finest and most respected female singers with a career full of top 10 hit singles and albums worldwide. She is currently recording a long-awaited new album of original material featuring legendary guest singers and musicians to be released later in 2011.

Noted for the range, power, and sheer soulfulness of her voice, Mica Paris' singing made an immediate impact on the UK music scene in 1988 when she released her debut, platinum-selling album, 'So Good from which she had her first top ten hit, 'My One Temptation'.

Mica has collaborated with respected artists such as David Gilmour, Prince, Jimmy Barnes, Jools Holland, James Morrison and been a special guest of legendary artists such as Dionne Warwick and Michael Bolton.

Speaking about her highly anticipated appearance at the event, Paris said: "The Chequered Flag Ball is a really unique event where celebrities and non-celebrities mix in a celebration of motorsport, and this year it promises to be a truly exceptional evening.

Guests can look forward to a uniquely intimate atmosphere, making for an incomparable evening of star-studded entertainment.

The former owner of F1 team Jordan Racing, Eddie Jordan, has always been a huge fan of music and his four piece band is a direct result of his passion for rock and roll.

As the man behind the drums Eddie takes pride in giving the band a serious dose of revs to guarantee great music. As well has performing at the British Grand Prix, Eddie & The Robbers have previously headlined on the Pet Sounds Stage at T in the Park and performed for thousands of music fans at the Isle of Wight Festival.

During a recent gig for Amber Rocks, Eddie jammed together with Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Mike Rutherford (Genesis), and Roger Daltry (The Who). In 2009 the band released the single 'You Make Me Smile' in aid of the leading children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent who Eddie is a patron of.
